65 Million Years...and One Bad Day

By analyzing and dating the contents of each layer in the deep-sea core, scientists have reconstructed what happened one day 65 million years ago. Much of the story is told by foraminifera, single-celled organisms that have inhabited the oceans for more than 500 million years.
